Enhanced Sorting Options for Better Task Management

We're excited to announce a significant improvement to our list sorting functionality, making it even easier to organize and find your tasks!

What's New

We've completely redesigned the sorting experience with these key improvements:

  1. Simplified UI: Sorting options are now presented as clean, clickable pills
  2. Toggle Sorting Direction: Each sort option now toggles between ascending and descending order with a single click
  3. Clear Direction Indicators: Arrows (↑/↓) show the current sort direction
  4. New Created Sort Option: Sort items by when they were added to your list

Why We Made These Changes

Organization is at the heart of productivity. Our previous sorting system required multiple clicks to change sort direction or try different sorting methods. The new system makes it faster and more intuitive to find exactly the tasks you need.

How to Use the New Sorting

At the top of any list, you'll see four sorting options:

  • Position: The default manual ordering (drag-and-drop still works here!)
  • Due Date: Sort by deadline, with upcoming dates first or last
  • Complete: Group completed or incomplete items together
  • Created: Sort by when items were added to your list

Simply click any sort option to activate it. Click again to toggle between ascending (↑) and descending (↓) order.

Real-World Use Cases

Here are some ways to take advantage of the improved sorting:

  • Daily Planning: Use Due Date ↑ to see today's deadlines first
  • Weekly Review: Use Created ↓ to see your most recently added items
  • Sense of Accomplishment: Use Complete ↓ to see all your completed items at the top
  • Prioritization: Use Position to maintain your custom manual ordering

Coming Soon

We're continuously working to improve your task management experience. Some features we're exploring next:

  • Custom sorting preferences that persist between sessions
  • Additional sorting options like priority or category
  • Combined filtering and sorting for power users

Your Feedback Matters

We developed this feature based on your feedback! Let us know what you think about the new sorting options and what other improvements would help you stay organized.

Happy sorting!
