Who this is for

14 tasks for resetting a rental between stays. It's designed to be run identically every time — by you, by a cleaner, by whoever covers when your usual person is ill — because consistency is what turnover quality actually depends on.

Run it in a fixed order

The sequence isn't arbitrary: strip and start laundry first so the machine runs while you do everything else, work top to bottom so dust falls onto floors you haven't cleaned yet, and finish with floors and the final walkthrough. A cleaner who invents their own order will miss different things each time.

The inspection is a separate pass from the cleaning

Cleaning and checking are different modes of attention, and doing them simultaneously means neither happens properly. Walk the property once more at the end as though you were arriving: does the shower run hot, does the wifi connect, is the bin empty, is there loo roll.

That final walkthrough catches the things that generate the reviews.

Photograph the finished state

Every turnover, same angles. It takes two minutes and gives you a dated record of the property's condition, which is what settles a damage claim. It also gives you the evidence to have a specific conversation with a cleaner rather than a vague one.

Restock from a written inventory

Consumables run out silently and the guest discovers it at the worst moment. Count against a list rather than glancing — coffee, paper, soap, dishwasher tablets, spare bulbs, batteries for the remote.

Timing

Run it plain, on the day. Save it as a repeatable list and copy it per turnover, so each stay has its own record.
